Courtney Mayster Discusses How “Tough-Guy” Mentality of Leadership Is Changing

Much Managing Partner Courtney Mayster sat down with Law.com to discuss how attorneys value an approachable, accessible, and collaborative leader. She said the “tough-guy” style of leadership is becoming antiquated and that making a positive impact, beyond the walls of a law firm, is more important than ever.

“One thing that resonates with me is leading from within and being true to who you are,” Mayster said. “I think of myself as the proverbial head of the table, but I’m not sitting at the real head of the table. I want to sit with my team. I don’t want to be the loudest person in the room, and I don’t need to be.”
